Abstract:
The Cucuteni C ceramic ware constantly coexisted throughout time with the painted
ceramic ware of the Cucuteni culture, being a parallel manifestation with phases AB and B and
not posterior to the same. Such primitive ceramic ware shows, as specific elements, the
technology of clay preparation, the usage of imperfect firing and the modality of achievement
the ornamentation (through incisions, through impressions achieved with the comb /a shell or a
cord). The paper presents the researches undertaken on shards of the type C ceramic ware
which shows, together with other ornamentation modalities, the corded ornamentation.
Researches pointed out information regarding both ornamental motifs achieved with the
wrapped cord and the characteristics of the elements used for creating the ornamentation
(structure of the wrapped cord, parameters of the wrapping, pointing out superficial elements
of the wrapping support etc.)
