dc.description.abstract Corn (Zea mays L.) is a multi-purpose high-output cereal. Sugar corn beans are used in making preserves when immature, before sugar isconverted into starch. Thirteen hybrids of sugar corn, that are cultivated in Moldova, were studied. They were grown on the testing fields in Bacioi, Chisinau, belonging tothe National Commission charged with the study of plants in year 2010-2011. The research has revealed the hybrids that are best suited for canning. en_US
