Abstract:
From the plant Linaria vulgaris (L.) Mill. (Scrophulariaceae) was obtained a summary extract of biologically active substances - linariosides. The iridoid glycosides and two glycosides of benzyl alcohol were identified in the extract mentioned above. The biological activity of the linariosides was studied by assessing their impact on the growth and development of the tobacco plant. Treating the tobacco seeds and seedlings with linariosides increases the seed germination energy, stimulates the growth and development of the tobacco plant, raises its resistance to black root rot as well as boosts the tobacco yield and quality.
