dc.description.abstract | Recently, stimulated radiation produced by laser plays an important and increasing role in biology and medical applications. A laser is a device that emits a high intensity, narrow beam of light, usually of one single color (monochromatic light). Due to the rapid development and wide applications, laser becomes a magic tool for medical diagnostics and treatment. Laser therapy in medicine represents a treatment that uses a power beam of light to cut, burn, or destroy tissue. As the laser beam is too small and precise, it allows doctors to safely treat tissue without hurting the surrounding area. In this talk, I give a short description and characteristic about lasers that are used in biology and medicine. | en_US |
