dc.description.abstract In a knowledge-based society, the school is the most important institution, being responsible for the society of the future. Dewey and Lipman showed that the traditional school failed, focusing on the transfer of knowledge from those who know to those who do not know, from teacher to student. Such a school is concerned with ensuring success, performance, but it offers answers to questions that students don’t ask and ignores questions that they raise. On the whole, the school needs to adapt its practices so that students can learn how to ask questions and how to think for themselves. en_US
