dc.description.abstract Microgrids are entities which will become more frequent in areas with high penetration of renewable energy sources. Therefore, there is an increasing need for reliable tools appropriate for load-flow and dynamic analysis, especially for the off-grid operation. However, simulation compatibility for on-grid operation must be also available. Furthermore, microgrids are by their nature weak: some loads may be comparable with generation units, which are also divided into grid former and grid followers. In this paper, a preliminary assessment of such microgrids is made, based on load-flow analysis on a Quasi-Steady Static Time Series and a Synthetic Slack Bus concept. These are used to obtain realistic results and appropriate deployment solutions for independent microgrids operation. en_US
