dc.description.abstract	The paper describes ways of definition of a line. In a plan the line can be defined as the graph of a function or the graph of an equation. It can be represented as the trajectory of the movement of a point or, more generally, in a parametric way. In space, the line can be defined as the intersection of two surfaces or in a parametric way. The aspect of a line can be modified by modifying certain of its parameters. This is being shown through the example of an astroid.	en_US
