The need for investment in transport infrastructure development

Abstract

Transport infrastructure is an important sector for development of any society, since it determines the economic and social level of the studied region. We can speak of a direct dependence between the infrastructure industry and areas such as transport services, because a developed infrastructure ensures a higher growth of the transport field, but also there is an indirect dependence on other areas, in the sense that an appropriate infrastructure can negatively influence the interest of the authorities for expansion through new constructions, to the detriment of other areas considered priority. In this article we described the problems that are present in developing national road infrastructure, the general objectives of the current strategies set by the Government in the development of the national transport and logistics sector. Also we described how an adequate road infrastructure influences economic development of different regions of our country.
