Abstract:
A process for coating the surface of copper pipes with aluminum is described. The process is carried out in a magnetofluidized bed using electric discharges and powder of aluminum. Magnetofluidized bed is slurry of steel cylindrical particles which are brought into a fluidized state by means of the rotating magnetic field. These particles being in a rotatory motion fluidize the aluminum powder and create a plurality of electrical discharges when they hit each other or the surface of electrodes. The powder which gets into the electric discharge melts and coats the surface of the copper pipe.
