dc.description.abstract	This paper presents the outcome of research which aimed to establish the critical factors to improve the maintenance and management of forest protection belts. Using some data coming from very different sources, it is presented the general situation of forest protection belts in the villages Poganesti, Ceoara and Carpineni. This paper shows how aerial photos can be used to update the real situation of forest protection belts. The main parts of the paper relate the problems of juridical status of land forests regarding soil protection	en_US
