Lucrarea oferă o prezentare generală despre specia de stafilinid Philonthus jurgans Tottenham, 1937, semnalată în premieră într-o plantaţie de viţă-de-vie din satul Cocieri, raionul Dubăsari. Statutul de specie nouă şi adventivă în fauna Republicii Moldova detemină interesul ştiinţific în concretizarea celor mai reprezentative aspecte de descriere şi confirmare. Pe baza colectărilor, observaţiilor, identificărilor întreprinse şi studierii literaturii de specialitate, în actuala lucrare se prezintă originea şi distribuţia geografică, statutul speciei, gama habitatelor populate şi informaţia ilustrativă pentru adult (mascul, femelă).
The paper provides a general presentation of the staphylinid species Philonthus jurgans Tottenham, 1937, reported for the first time in a grapevine plantation in Cocieri village, Dubasari district. The status of a new and adventive species in the fauna of the Republic of Moldova justifies the scientific interest in specifying the most repre-sentative aspects of description and confirmation. Based on the samples collected, observations and identifications undertaken and the study of the specialized literature, this paper presents the origin and geographical distribution, the status of species, the range of populated habitats and detailed information about the imago (male, female).
