The particulars of cherry trees growth and fructization, management and cutting

Abstract

The researches were carried out in the central fruit-growing area of the Republic of Moldova. The effect of the pruning period of cherry trees of the Ferrovia, Kordia, Regina, Skeena and Stella varieties, grafted on the Maxima 14 rootstock, planted in the fall of 2012 at a distance of 5 x 3 m and driven according to the improved natural crown shape with reduced volume, was evaluated. The fruit yield varied a lot depending on the climatic conditions expressed by the late spring frosts during cherry blossoming and high temperatures during the vegetation period. Tree cutting periods significantly affected the yield and quality of cherry fruit. Pruning in early autumn contributed positively to the average mass of fruits and the distribution of fruits according to their diameter, reducing the number of fruits per tree, it also had a large effect in reducing the percentage (1.6-2.9%) of fruits with diameter of 24 mm and smaller and promoted fruit yield (18.3-36.1%) of 28 mm diameter and larger without affecting total yield.

Cercetările au fost efectuate, în zona pomicolă de centru a Republicii Moldova. S-a evaluat efectul perioadei de tăiere a pomilor de cireş din soiurile Ferrovia, Kordia, Regina, Skeenași Stella, altoite pe portaltoiul Maxima 14, plantați în toamna anului 2012 la distanța de 5 x 3 m și conduși după forma de coroană natural ameliorată cu volum redus. Randamentul de fructe a variat foarte mult în funcție de condițiile climatice exprimate prin brumele tîrzii de primăvară din timpul înfloririi cireșului și temperaturi ridicate în perioada de vegetație. Perioadele de tăiere a pomilor au afectat semnificativ randamentul și calitatea fructelor de cireș. Tăierea toamna devreme a contribuit pozitiv la masa medie a fructelor și distribuirii fructelor în funcţie de diametrul lor, reducând numărul de fructe pe pom, a avut și un efect mare în reducerea procentului (1,6-2,9%) de fructe cu diametrul de 24 mm și mai mic și a promovat randamentul fructelor (18,3-36,1%) cu diametrul de 28 mm și mai mult, fără a afecta randamentul total.
