dc.description.abstract The paper presents the dynamic models of the compactor – soil interaction during the compaction process, the depth of the compaction active zone, the number of passes and the final compaction degree which has to be realized as a result of the technological process. The last generation compactors are equipped with intelligent systems for the in situ monitoring and control of the compaction degree, based on the evaluation of the vertical acceleration signal of the compactor, as a result of the contact between the roll and terrain, in this way the potential of the equipment is used almost to its maximum. en_US
