dc.description.abstract	The paper presents aspects of the state policy and the legislation regarding cogeneration based on useful thermal energy demand for high efficiency cogeneration and district heating systems. Also, a brief description of the district heating systems development is presented, as well as the current state of investment prospects. In addition, the data are shown regarding the thermal energy production by the regulated companies, the technological consumptions, the useful deliveries and thermal energy losses, the structure of the thermal energy consumers.	en_US
